Eklipsis

What it is

Eklipsis places stories of unexplained phenomena on a world map — apparitions, haunted places, aerial phenomena, cryptids, folklore and more — so they can be explored, compared and examined.

Genesis

Eklipsis grew out of late-night reading about unexplained phenomena: fascinating stories, but scattered, unsourced and impossible to compare. Placing them on a map, with their status and evidence, became the way to make sense of them.

Why it exists

Strange stories are scattered across the internet without context. Eklipsis gathers them in one place, separates testimonies from fiction and lets you cross-check accounts by place, time and evidence.

• Explore stories on an interactive world map
• Filter by category, status (testimony, fiction, unknown), period and media
• Search a precise area by drawing it directly on the map
• Sort by newest, best score, most viewed or most discussed
